FOR THE WEEK OF

Romans 7:18, 12:1 & Philippians 2:13

The path to freedom begins with humility,
or seeing ourselves as God sees us.

Introduction:
The key to persevering in the Christian life and living all for Jesus is remembering
that it is not our efforts that matter, but the finished redeeming work of Jesus that
assures us of our ultimate victory over sin.

Starting Out:
Are you a speeder, or do make a point of always following all traffic laws?

Following up:
How did you share God’s love with someone in your oikos this week?

Romans 7:18, 12:1:
1. To what extent do you relate to what Paul is saying here?
2. Why do you think it is so easy to conform to the behavior of the world?
3. What does Paul mean with “by the mercies of God”? (v.1)
4. What do you think it looks like to be a “living sacrifice” to God?

Philippians 2:13:
5. How would you explain the difference between working for salvation and
working because of your salvation to someone who is unfamiliar with Christianity?
6. What does Paul instruct the Philippian believers to do in verse 12?
7. What do you think is God’s good purpose?

Taking It Home:
8. How does this challenge the common ideas of popular culture today?
9. What internal battle are you fighting this week? Are you willing to turn
that battle over to Jesus?
10. Are you working out of an attempt to please God and earn salvation or
are you working to please God because of your salvation?

Emphasis on Oikos:
11. The key to reaching your oikos for Jesus is praying for them daily.
Are you taking the time to do that?
