FOR THE WEEK OF

Sunday, June 28, 2026 – Hanover
Proverbs 3:9-10

How you allocate your resources reveals
where you are putting your trust.

Introduction:
Wise living means prioritizing God first when it comes to your finances; fully putting
your trust in Him and allowing Him to provide for you.
Starting Out:
Other than your house and car, what is the most expensive thing that you’ve ever
purchased? Did that purchase meet your expectations?
Following up:
Did you notice anyone new to add to your Oikos this week?
Proverbs 3:9-10:
1. What immediately captures your attention about these verses?
2. What do you think it means to honor the Lord with your wealth?
3. What are “firstfruits”?
4. Is there really any difference between giving God the first portion of your income
rather than the last? The money all spends the same, right?
5. Do you think this passage is talking strictly about tithing, or do you think we
should be honoring God with all our wealth and resources?
6. What message do we send to those around us (our oikos) when we honor God
with our money?
7. What is the key to making sure you have plenty in life?
Taking It Home:
8. Are you truly honoring God with all your resources?
9. Do you give God the best of what you have, or does He get the leftovers?
10. What do your spending habits reveal about where you are putting your trust?
11. What is one way you can be generous with your resources this week?
Emphasis on Oikos:
12. Remember, we don’t choose our Oikos, God does. Are there people in your life
you’ve avoided praying for or sharing the Gospel with?
