Galatians 5:2-15
As adopted sons of Christ, we have ultimate freedom,
but it’s not the kind of freedom you might think.
Introduction:
Freedom in Christ is not freedom to act however you want or do whatever you want;
it is the freedom to love and serve others like Christ has loved you.
Starting Out:
If you were free to go anywhere in the world and do anything you wanted for one week,
where would you go and what would you do?
Following up:
Did you meet a need for anyone in your oikos this week?
Galatians 5:2-15:
1. Is there anything in this passage that you find hard to understand?
2. According to Paul, why has Christ set us free? (v.1)
3. How does the world typically define freedom, and how is that definition different from Paul’s?
4. According to Paul, what are the consequences of seeking justification through the law? (v.2-4)
5. What does Paul say is the only thing that matters? (v. 6)
6. How strongly does Paul feel about people leading others astray with false doctrine? (v. 12)
7. How are we to use our freedom? (v.13)
8. How can we fulfill the law? (v.14)
Taking It Home:
9. Do you truly understand what it means to live freely in Christ?
10. What is one tangible way you can put your freedom into action this week?
11. When is the last time you took a “spiritual inventory” to make sure your spiritual motor is “running well”?
Emphasis on Oikos:
12. Knowing that God has set us free to serve, how can you serve your oikos this week?
