Psalm 138:8 & Ephesians 2:8-10
No one is here on this earth by accident.
We were all created for a purpose.
Introduction:
It may be hard for us to see it, but God has lovingly designed us with specific
personalities and abilities; uniquely equipping us to serve Him and others.
Starting Out:
When you were a kid, were you one of the first to be picked when making teams, or
were you one of the last? What effect did that have on you as a child?
Following up:
Did you follow Jesus’ instructions to “Go…and tell” this week?
Psalm 138:8
1. What’s the first thing that stands out to you about verse 8?
2. What is the “work of your (God’s) hands”?
Ephesians 2:8-10
3. What is your definition of grace?
4. What does it mean to be saved “through faith” (v.8)
5. Why is the concept of earning our salvation so pervasive in our society?
6. Why is it so important for us to acknowledge that salvation is a gift, not a prize?
7. According to verse 10, what were we created for?
8. How does it make you feel to know that God has already prepared situations for
you to do good works?
Taking It Home:
9. Are you allowing the Lord to fulfill His purpose in you?
10. Are you working for your salvation or because of your salvation?
11. What is one good work you can do this week?
Emphasis on Oikos:
12. Do you truly want to make a profound difference in this world? With your oikos?
How can you do good works by being more available, more attentive, and more
generous with your oikos this week?
