Galatians 6:1-10
Followers of Jesus never walk alone.
Introduction:
As members of the body of Christ, no one should walk alone; we rely on one another
to restore, encourage, and help us live the Christian life to its fullest; without accountability,
we can easily drift off the path and towards sinful attractions.
Starting Out:
Have you ever witnessed someone helping a complete stranger by carrying their groceries
or helping them load their car at the store? Have you ever done this?
Following up:
Did you fully give your Oikos over to God this week, or are you trying to win them to Jesus
with your own efforts?
Galatians 6:1-10:
1. What are some “duties” that Paul assigns to Galatian believers in this passage?
2. What is a transgression, and why do you think gentleness is an important part of how
we are to “restore” fellow Christians who find themselves there? (v.1)
3. How would you define what it means to “bear one another’s burdens”? (v.2)
4. What does it mean to “test your own actions”? (v.4)
5. Do you think verse 5 contradicts with verse 2?
6. What basic life principle does Paul establish in verses 7?
7. What can you expect to happen if you make desires of the flesh a priority? (v.8)
8. Why do you think doing good, especially to “those who are of the household of faith”,
is so important to Paul? (v.10)
Taking It Home:
9. Do you feel like you must always carry your own burdens?
10. How much do you invest in carrying the burdens of others?
11. How would you explain “Christian community” to a non-believer?
Emphasis on Oikos:
12. Carrying your oikos’ burdens is a great way to earn the opportunity to share the gospel
with them. Are you carrying any burdens?
