Proverbs 13:20 & Proverbs 27:17

Who you surround yourself with will determine the
direction of your life more than you realize.

Introduction:
Wise living means being intentional about who you allow into your life and
guarding the amount of influence you allow them to have over you. Surrounding
yourself with people that push you towards Jesus not away from Him is how we live
All for Jesus.
Starting Out:
Are you someone that makes friends easily, or does it take time for you to establish
relationships with people?
Following up:
Did you make any changes to how you pray for your oikos this week?
Proverbs 13:20:
1. What jumps out to you about this passage?
2. What do you think it means to “walk with the wise”?
3. What kind of harm do you think could come to those that have companionship
with fools?
Proverbs 27:17:
4. How exactly does iron sharpen iron?
5. Why do you think we need sharpening?
Taking It Home:
6. Who are you walking with most in your daily routine?
7. Companioning with fools is not exclusive to the people that you allow into your
life, it also includes how you spend your time and what media you consume. Are
there some fools in your life you need to stop spending time with?
8. Are you actively sharpening anyone around you?
Emphasis on Oikos:
9. Most people choose not to follow Jesus because they’ve never been given a
convincing reason to do so. Are you giving your oikos a reason to follow Jesus?
