Proverbs 3:5-8
Who do you lean on when life gets uncertain?
Introduction:
Wise living is not relying on our own understanding but choosing to trust God and
following His guidance for our lives; even when it doesn’t make sense to us.
Starting Out:
Who do you turn to when you need advice for big life decisions (love, marriage,
career, relationships, major purchases, relocation, etc.)?
Following up:
Did you allow God to change your perspective of anyone in your sphere of influence
this week?
Proverbs 3:5-8:
1. What 3 tasks does Solomon give us in this passage?
2. Why do you think it’s so challenging for us to trust in the Lord with ALL our
hearts?
3. What usually happens when we lean on our own understanding?
4. What does it mean to acknowledge God with all our ways? (v.6)
5. How does fearing the Lord help us turn away from evil?
6. How can trusting, acknowledging, and fearing God be healing and refreshing to
us? (v.8)
Taking It Home:
7. Have you ever “wrestled” with God over something in the Bible or with His calling
for your life?
8. How much different would your life look if you actually trusted, acknowledged,
and feared?
9. Are there areas of your life that you find it hard to trust God with?
Emphasis on Oikos:
10. The number of people in your Oikos is not important, the fact that God has
placed them there is what matters. How can you make them a priority this
week?
