John 14:6 & John 20
Jesus is the only savior that sacrificed Himself
and resurrected from the dead.
Introduction:
With so many sincere followers of multiple religions, often determined by where
you’re born, it’s easy to wonder why being a follower of Jesus matters. But the
evidence is overwhelming. Jesus is the promised Messiah, and He alone provides a
path to Heaven.
Starting Out:
Do you like being told there is only one way to do things, or are you always looking
for a different, better, faster, or more convenient way to get things done?
Following up:
Did you seek or grant forgiveness to anyone in your oikos this week?
John 14:6:
1. Why does Jesus make this statement? HINT: see verse 5
2. Does knowing that Jesus is the ONLY access to God make it easier to put your
faith in God or harder?
John 20:
3. How do we know that God accepted Jesus’ death on the cross as a sufficient
payment for the sins of this world?
4. What evidence is there that Jesus actually did raise from the dead, and why does
it matter since His sacrifice on the cross was the payment for our sins?
5. Why did Jesus not want Mary to touch Him? (v.17)
6. Why were the disciples afraid of Jewish leaders? (v.19)
7. What did Jesus give the disciples in verse 22?
Taking It Home:
8. What does it look like for you to make Jesus your priority in everyday life?
9. Are you listening for Jesus’ voice in your life?
Emphasis on Oikos:
10. Jesus’ instructions in this chapter include “Go…and tell”, “I am sending you”, and
“stop doubting and believe”. Are you actively following these instructions when it
comes to the people that God has placed in your life?
